Need ways to spark your creativity?

How does creativity work for you? Is it fresh and ready each time you choose a pattern or fabrics? Or do you have to work at finding the spark again when you're starting a new project or you've been working on a quilt for a while?

Often, a spark is all it takes to reset our brains.

How do you make your quilt your own?

How do you make the quilt you are making right now yours? How do you make it special for you? How do you make it uniquely yours, even if it’s a block of the month with a group of quilters and there are only two choices of colorways or fabric types?

Winter blues

For weeks I think of winter in black and white. Dramatic, crisp, sharp, sometimes depressing. And then comes the day when winter turns to blues, a step towards adding color back into the days, from stark black and white to winter blues.

It's official. I'm a color nerd.

Maybe it’s because I’m thinking about my upcoming workshop. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been in my quilt studio in a while. Maybe I’m just a color nerd. I see color combinations everywhere, even in a scarf, a towel, and a pajama top.
