Creativity takes many forms, from designing your own quilts to choosing your own fabrics for someone else's pattern, to painting or sculpting or writing. We don't have to see color and fabric in the same way in order to create amazing quilts.

My son said we have "wild colors" on our walls. What color do you paint your walls to show off your quilts? What do you choose for background fabrics for your quilts? If beige is your go-to background color, I challenge you to try something different.

One thing that I believe you shouldn't skimp on to save time is choosing your fabrics. No matter how skilled or unskilled your stitching is, people see the fabrics in a quilt first and foremost. “Fabrics first.” No more quilt clones.” Maybe it should be our new mantra.
